And this garlic roast chicken is one such spin on a classic dish that your whole family is sure to love.

Garlic Roast Chicken Recipe

The main ingredient that lends its strong flavors to this garlic roast chicken is, undoubtedly, the garlic itself! One of the most popular and frequently used spices on the planet, garlic’s incredibly versatile uses make its repertoire of dishes quite a wide one. No matter how extravagant or humble a dish can be, just a few cloves of garlic make all the difference. But the fact that we’re using a whole head of garlic for this garlic roast chicken means that there’s enough flavor to go around! And if you’re already a fan of FIlipino cuisine, you know that we can never have too much garlic.

Besides being delicious, garlic is chock full of vitamins and nutrients we need to keep our body healthy. Vitamin C, B6, and manganese are among the most present nutrients in this nutty spice. Improving cholesterol levels and heart health are just a few of the other health benefits of garlic. The fact that it’s so full of nourishment is only made better by the fact that you can use it in practically anything! This garlic roast chicken is just one example, but what are your favorite dishes to cook with garlic?

Garlic aside, another important ingredient of this garlic roast chicken is one zesty piece of lemon! This tart and bright fruit brings a refreshing vibrance to our garlic roast chicken that it wouldn’t have otherwise. By not just squeezing the lemon juice all over the chicken but also stuffing the peel inside the cavity, you’re ensuring that its citrusy flavor fully seeps through your meat. This will definitely make your garlic roast chicken even tastier! The sprig of rosemary you’re adding definitely couldn’t hurt, either.

With six tablespoons of butter to make your chicken all the creamier, there’s just one more secret ingredient to add. A tablespoon of Knorr Liquid Seasoning is enough to make your dish more savory, more filling, and more delicious! You’ll definitely be able to level up your hearty garlic roast chicken with this ingredient. Don’t skip out!

To get ready to cook garlic roast chicken, make sure to have all your ingredients ready! This includes cleaning your whole chicken, in order to ensure the safety of you and your family. Crush a head of garlic as well, so you can easily add it later on.

First, preheat your oven to 450F. While waiting, pat your chicken dry with a paper towel, then arrange it on a roasting pan. Combine your garlic and rosemary and crush both with a mortar and pestle. You’ll want to achieve a paste-like texture with these spices, so be sure to crush them thoroughly. In the meanwhile, make your compound butter by mashing 6 tablespoons’ worth in another bowl with a fork. Add in your garlic and rosemary afterwards, and season with Knorr Liquid Seasoning. This will make up most of the flavor in your delicious garlic toast chicken. Mix well, then set it aside as you prepare the rest of your dish.

The next step in cooking your garlic roast chicken would be to place your chicken on a clean cast iron pan or baking tray. Loosen the skin from the meat by sliding your fingers in between them carefully. Spread your compound butter within it, making sure to coat all inches of your chicken with flavor. If you have butter leftover, place it inside the cavity. Then, take your piece of lemon and squeeze it across the chicken. Sprinkle salt and ground black pepper next; you’ll need half a teaspoon and a quarter teaspoon, respectively. Then, stuff the lemon peel inside the cavity.

For the next 20 minutes or so, bake your garlic roast chicken for 20 minutes. After that time is up, bring the temperature down 100 degrees, to 350F. For this step, I let my garlic roast chicken cook for about 50 minutes, so the overall baking time would be an hour and 10. Regardless of how long it takes, I can assure you the end product will definitely be worth it.

Remove the chicken from the oven when you’ve finished cooking. Cover it with aluminum foil and let it rest and simmer for 20 minutes longer. Then, serve it with your preferred sides at your dining table!
